& registration information

We (Mike & Janet) have been raising & breeding livestock
for the past 40 years. We have raised registered Angus cattle, registered
Quarter Horses, registered Australian Shepherds, registered llamas
and suri alpacas. We have
also been involved with livestock through our business of Wilkins
Livestock Insurers, where we insure all kinds of livestock.
During that time, we have also raised six wonderful children and
currently have 13 grandchildren.

We were first exposed to llamas about 25 years ago at an auction
where we were selling insurance. We had seen first hand that this
was a profitable industry, and decided we wanted to be a part of
it. We soon found out not only was it profitable, but we thoroughly
enjoyed the llamas as well. They are a gentle, regal animal with
wonderful personalities and great fiber. It wasnt long and
we had 20 breeding females at our farm and our cattle were sold.
We specialize in raising show quality llamas.
When alpacas started being imported, Mike andI had the privilege
of insuring most of those imports. This gave us a first hand view
of the beginnings of another livestock industry. At that time, we
decided to invest in alpacas as well with our son Craig as ranch
manager. We specialize in black and grey suri alpacas, but
of course we have other colors as well. We especially enjoy working
with new people who are interested in investing in camelids.
It has been a wonderful journey that we feel so blessed to have
gone on. We currently have 25 breeding llamas and 30 breeding alpacas.
We still enjoy both and look forward to showing them at the shows
and meeting with all the wonderful friends we have made over the
years.
In the spring of 2005 we lost our son, Craig, and grandson, Chase,
in a terrible head on car accident. It turned our world upside down,
but now we are finally on a straight path once again and enjoying
our camelids. Stacy, our daughter-in-law, remarried in the fall
of 2007 to a wonderful man, Joe Miller. He will be a good dad to
her two children, Dakota & Taylor. Joe and Stacy have established
their own alpaca ranch: Broken Road Alpacas. They also adopted a
baby in the fall of 2008, named Kinyon. Craig had been managing
our ranch. We have a new ranch manager now, Steve Kramer, who is
doing an outstanding job for us.
One of the joys we have in owning the camelids, is seeing our grandchildren
show them. Dakota is shown here with our llama WLK Chubaca,
where he won the LFA Amatuer Futurity Class in 06.

Take a look at our camelids to see what we are doing in our breeding
programs. We love having people drop by. Please dont hesitate
to stop and see us or
for any further information.
